Grantham Institute (Report outreach video)

The Grantham Institute at Imperial College London commissioned this short outreach film to communicate research connected to Expect the Unexpected, a report produced with Carbon Tracker on the disruptive potential of low-carbon technologies. The report showed how falling costs for solar PV and electric vehicles could reshape global energy demand and challenge traditional “business-as-usual” energy scenarios.

The challenge was to translate technical climate and energy research into a short, emotionally engaging video for a wider audience. Rather than creating a conventional scientific explainer, we developed a more personal and optimistic story about possible climate futures — highlighting that the low-carbon transition is already underway, but depends on collective action.

I led the concept and direction of the film, working with my team on the storyline, visual approach, filming, design and animation. The video was launched at a Grantham Institute / Carbon Tracker event with high-level policymakers, business leaders and researchers, and was designed to help the research reach beyond expert circles.
